Flying Officer Peter McCartney and Flight Lieutenant Raymond Clifford Ridge
I have just received this request.Hi. Is there any way I can get in contact with Mike Miles? My Granda is John Henry McCartney, from Newcastle, England. His younger brother Peter McCartney was a pilot in the Canadian Royal Airforce during WW2, where he was shot down and MIA. My email is marina@mccartney.net.nz. I’d love to find out if this is my Granda’s brother.
RCAF 404 Squadron is all about remembering.I have not written that much on my blog which is a resurrection of a Website created a few years ago about RCAF 404 Squadron.By using Wayback Machine I was able to retrieve almost all the information and photos. There was one photo that was not there. This one was shared today by the son of Flying Officer Peter McCartney seen on the left with his pilot.

Mike Miles never knew his father. His father died on March 8, 1945. This is the information I had found but never followed up on it.

Dear Pierre,
Just to update you, I have been in contact with Marina McCartney and it turns out that her grandfather was indeed my father’s older brother and that her father was my cousin…
